Daily Routine
We organise our sessions so that the children can choose from, and work at, a range of activities and, in doing so, build up their ability to select and work through a task to its completion. The children are also helped and encouraged to take part in adult-led small and large group activities, which introduce them to new experiences and help them to gain new skills, as well as helping them to learn to work with others. Outdoor activities contribute to children’s health, their physical development and their knowledge of the world around them. The children have the opportunity, and are encouraged, to take part in outdoor child-chosen and adult-led activities, as well as those provided in the indoor playroom(s).
The routine below shows a sample of our typical day . . .
Morning Session
8am to 9am: Breakfast club: We provide jam and butter toast, choice of cereals and fruits
9am to 9.20am Session begins with Registration and Circle time. The circle time encourages unity, respect, turn-taking and working together towards a shared vision. It also helps children work on five key skills, thinking, listening, looking, speaking and concentrating.
9:20am-10.10.30am: Montessori work-cycle: Children are free to choose from various areas of learning – Numeracy, Literacy, Sensorial, Knowledge and Understanding of the World, Practical life activities, Arts and Crafts, Music and Role play. Children bring their own packed snack. They are free to have their snack during these times
10.30-11am: Extracurricular activities. We have Drama Football and Yoga sessions for children to choose from
11am-11.45am: Outdoor play: We provide a Montessori enriched environment indoors and outdoors.
11.45am to 12pm: Story time
12pm: Home time for morning session children
Afternoon Session
12pm-1pm: Lunch time. Children are required to bring their own packed lunch; this is a great opportunity for children to learn social skills at meal times followed by free play
1-1.20pm Session begins with Registration and Circle time
1.20pm-2pm Montessori work-cycle commences– free choice from all areas of learning
2pm-2.45pm: : Outdoor play
2.45pm-3pm: Story time goodbye circle
3pm: Home time!
3pm-4pm: Day care session: Please enquire within
