  1. We organise our sessions so that the children can choose from, and work at, a range of activities and, in doing so, build up their ability to select and work through a task to its completion. The children are also encouraged to take part in adult-led small and large group activities, which introduce them to new experiences and help them gain new skills, as well as learn to work with others. Outdoor activities contribute to children's health, their physical development and their knowledge of the world around them. The children have the opportunity and are encouraged, to take part in outdoor child-chosen and adult-led activities, as well as those provided in the indoor playroom(s).The routine below shows a sample of a typical day at our Nursery:

Outdoors

Our nursery has a large, private garden designed exclusively for our children to explore, play, and learn in a safe outdoor environment. The spacious area provides plenty of room for active play, nature-based learning, and outdoor activities that support physical and sensory development. Equipped with age-appropriate resources, the garden encourages children to engage in imaginative play, social interactions, and hands-on discovery, enhancing their overall early years experience.

Our nursery playground has been completely refurbished to provide a safe, engaging, and fun outdoor space for the children. We have installed new chip flooring for enhanced safety and comfort, along with a charming dollhouse to encourage imaginative play. Additionally, our new equipment like the swing and slide set, Trampoline and sand table offers exciting opportunities for active play, helping children develop their coordination and gross motor skills. This refreshed playground creates a vibrant and stimulating environment where children can explore, socialise, and enjoy outdoor learning.

Our nursery's forest area provides children with a natural outdoor learning environment where they can explore, play, and develop key skills through hands-on experiences. It encourages curiosity, creativity, and independence while promoting physical activity and a connection with nature. The space is designed to support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Montessori principles, offering opportunities for sensory exploration, risk-taking, and teamwork. Activities in the forest area may include bug hunting, den building, nature crafts, and seasonal learning experiences, fostering a love for the outdoors and enhancing children's overall development.
